Congratulations to Baohui Zhang and
Jinjun Liu as IEEE Fellow


       According to the official news from the IEEE (International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), Prof. Zhang Baohui and Prof. Liu Jinjun from the School of Electrical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University were elected as IEEE Fellow for the outstanding achievement in power system transient stability prediction and power system modeling and control.

       Zhang Baohui, born in July 1953, is a second-level professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University and a former dean of the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. He obtained his master's and doctoral degrees in power systems and automation from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1982 and 1988, respectively. He is mainly engaged in research on power system relay protection and safety automatic devices, and published 482 related research papers, including 24 SCI searches, 362 EI searches, and 52 invention patents. He has presided over 64 scientific research projects, including 16 national projects, 45 enterprise projects, and 3 international cooperation projects. He has won 5 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards and the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award.

       Professor Liu Jinjun studied at the Department of Electrical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University. In 1992 and 1997, he received a bachelor's degree in engineering and a doctorate in engineering. He then stayed at the School of Electrical Engineering. From December 1999 to February 2002, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Power Electronics Systems Research Center at Virginia Tech University. In August 2002, he was promoted to professor and began to lead the Research Center of Power Electronics and New Energy of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Later, he served as the director of the Institute of Power Electronics and Industrial Automation of Xi'an Jiaotong University. From 2005 to 2010, he served as the deputy dean of the School of Electrical Engineering. From April 2009 to January 2015, he served as the director of the Academic Affairs Office of Xi'an Jiaotong University. In 2015, he was selected as the first “Leading Scholar” of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
