10th Anniversary Celebration of IEEE Xi'an Section
December 16, the 10th anniversary celebration for the establishment of the IEEE Xi'an Section and the 50th anniversary of the IEEE Asia Pacific Conference were held in the fifth conference room of the international conference center of Northwestern Polytechnical University.
On the morning of the 16th, Li Jiandong, the current chairman of the IEEE Xi'an Section and vice president of Xi'dian University, gave a welcome speech to representatives of IEEE members from around the world and members of the IEEE Xi'an Section, and briefly introduced the status of Xi'an Branch. Wan Xiaopeng, vice president of Northwestern Polytechnical University, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He expressed warm congratulations to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of IEEE Xi'an Section. Huang Jianguo, the first president of IEEE Xi'an Section and professor of the School of Marine Science and Technology, reviewed the development history of Xi'an Section and expressed his support and contribution to Northwestern Polytechnical University.

IEEE Asia Pacific Director Hua Ning, IEEE Hong Kong Section former chairman Y. W. Liu, IEEE Macau Section Chairman Li Jianqing, IEEE Shanghai Section Chairman Wang Chao, IEEE Nanjing Section Chairman Pan Zhiwen attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wan Xiaopeng, vice president of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Li Jiandong, vice president of Xi'dian University, presented the IEEE Xi'an Section Outstanding Contributor Award to IEEE fellow, Fan Changxin, professor of Xidian University, and Huang Jianguo, professor of the School of Marine Science and Technology.
On the afternoon of the 16th, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Duan Baoyan of Xi'dian University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guan Xiaohong of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and IEEE fellow, visiting professor of the University and Israel Cohen of the Israel Institute of Technology were invited to give a wonderful academic report. The staff had a heated discussion. Duan Baoyan elaborated the principle, scientific contribution and application value of the FAST radio telescope from the innovative design, simulation analysis and demonstration of the FAST radio telescope, the scientific problems faced by the test antenna design, the design perfection and practical application. Guan Xiaohong expounded the scientific problems behind the irrational structure of China's energy and the high uncertainty of supply and demand. He introduced his solution from the perspective of optimization theory and introduced its actual situation from the engineering point of view. Application and social benefits generated. Israel Cohen introduced the role of signal enhancement in national security and social life. The theoretical basis of signal enhancement was elaborated with the array signal processing method as the core. The methods with significant influence in the past 30 years were summarized, and the future development direction was briefly discussed. .
